Spicy Black Bean and Lentil Stew

- 1 cup lentils , dried, rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans , drained and rinsed
- 1 onion , chopped
- 2 garlic cloves , minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) tomatoes , diced
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- for garnish cilantro

- Heat oil in a large pot and sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add in lentils, black beans, diced tomatoes, cumin, chilli powder, salt and pepper, Stir well.
- Pour in vegetable broth and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until lentils are tender. Garnish with cilantro before serving.
