  • 1 cup butter , softened (margarine can be substituted)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar , granulated
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Topping

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup pecans

  1. In a large bowl, beat butter with 1 1/2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  2. In separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Stir into butter mixture until combined.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together 1/3 cup of sugar and cinnamon, set aside.
  4. shape dough into 1 inch balls, rollin cinnamon mixture and place balls 2 inches apart on lightly buttered baking sheets. Press nut into top of ball.
  5. Bake in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
