Mexican Tostadas de Carne Asade

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves , minced
  • 5 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 6 tostato shells
  • 1 cup pico de gallo
  • shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • variable sour cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese , shredded

  1. Marinade the carne aside: In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, lime juice, cumin, chilli powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture over the steak and let it marinade from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  2. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes per side or until desired doneness is achieved. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice it thinly against the grain.
  3. Assemble the tostados: spread a layer of guacamole on each tostada shell. Top with slices of carne aside. Add pico de Gallo and any additional toppings you like.
