- 1/2 cup butter , unsalted, melted
- 1/2 cup sugar , granulated
- 1 1/2 cup flour , all-purpose
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 can cherry pie filling

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Line a square 8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.Butter the sides and bottom of lined pan (I don’t do this if the pan is non-stick)
- In a large mixing bowl stir together melted butter and sugar. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir with a fork until the mixture resembles crumbs. Reserve 3/4 cup of the mixture.
- Press remaining crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spread cherry pie filling into the bottom of the pan
- Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over cherries.
- Bake bars for 23 to 25 minutes or until top is golden
