Cherry Crumble Bars

  • 1/2 cup butter , unsalted, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar , granulated
  • 1 1/2 cup flour , all-purpose
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Line a square 8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.Butter the sides and bottom of lined pan (I don’t do this if the pan is non-stick)
  3. In a large mixing bowl stir together melted butter and sugar. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir with a fork until the mixture resembles crumbs. Reserve 3/4 cup of the mixture.
  4. Press remaining crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Spread cherry pie filling into the bottom of the pan
  6. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over cherries.
  7. Bake bars for 23 to 25 minutes or until top is golden
